Second WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region

Recent advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) in health has sparked public debate on the extent to which technology, and more specifically generative AI, has the potential to infringe upon personal privacy and impact the health of populations. To explore this and other issues impacting current and future European Region health system landscapes, WHO/Europe is hosting the second WHO Symposium on the Future of Digital Health Systems in the European Region on 5–6 September.

The virtual meeting of beneficiary and affiliated entities will review the latest steps of the Joint Action and briefly present what is to come. Attendees belonging to 35 organisations from 16 different countries will exchange ideas and questions about the progress and outcomes of eCAN so far.

Personalised Digital Healthcare and the European Health Data Space

It is expected that during the six months of the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU the processing will continue, presumably at first reading, of the proposal for the European Health Data Space Regulation. Among other aims, one of the effects of this project will be to promote personalised healthcare, through the provision of face-to-face and virtual services for patients, specifically adapted to their characteristics and health situation.

Conference on Personalised medicine: the evolution of healthcare to improve people’s lives
