SUMMARY:Empowerment Tips & Tricks for the use of teleconsultation solutions
DESCRIPTION:The Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH)\, member of WP8\, is organising a tailor-made session to provide eCAN participants with essential insights into harnessing the possibilities of teleconsultation\, that allows healthcare professionals and patients to communicate and interact in real-time\, regardless of their physical locations. Through teleconsultation\, patients can seek medical advice\, receive diagnoses\, and even undergo treatment without the need for in-person visits to healthcare facilities. \nThe workshop encourages an open dialogue to offer practical tips and tricks to navigate the intricacies of teleconsultation effectively\, optimizing user experience and maximizing patient engagement. While teleconsultation is not suitable for all medical conditions and situations\, it has emerged as an effective and increasingly popular method of healthcare delivery\, particularly in situations where in-person visits are not necessary or feasible. \nThis event fosters collaboration\, networking\, and knowledge-sharing within the secor of virtual healthcare\, promising to transform the delivery and receipt of healthcare services thanks to telecommunications technologies.

SUMMARY:International Day of Action on Women's Health
DESCRIPTION:Since its inaugural launch in 1987\, May 28th has been recognized as the International Day of Action for Women’s Health by several governments\, various international agencies and multiple civil society organizations around the world. The Latin American and Caribbean Women’s Health Network (LACWHN) and the Women’s Global Network for Reproductive Rights (WGNRR) have maintained the campaign through yearly collaborative Calls for Action\, each year focusing on a particular topic related to women’s health. The range of topics throughout the years included: \n– Access to Quality Health Care\n– Feminisation of Poverty\n– Access to Safe and Legal Abortion\n– Government Accountability in Prioritizing Health Markets\n– Health Sector Reform and Women’s Health\n– Women and HIV/AIDS\n– International Trade Agreements and Women’s Access to Health\n– VAW as a Global Health Emergency\n– Young People’s Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)\n– Access to Contraceptives \nMay 28th is a Day of Action recognized internationally wherein any organisation or individual can mobilise their communities around their own priority topic best suiting the local context. Over the years WGNRR has served the needs of its own members by reflecting their priorities for the focus of each annual Call for Action\, equipping them with associated campaign materials. Meanwhile LACWHN has developed its own Call for Action with its regional membership. Other women’s health activists commemorate May 28th independently developing their own themes and materials reflecting the issues important to their stakeholders. Any organsation working to advance women’s health rights is welcome to launch May 28th activities\, in the aim of ensuring women’s health and well-being worldwide\, particularly in terms of their SRHR.

SUMMARY:Integrating digital health technologies in cancer care
DESCRIPTION:The steady increase in life expectancy\, mean age and cancer survivorship across the developed countries together with evidence from cancer and geriatrics care research bring forward the urgent need to deal with the “age issue” as a key component of global cancer care strategies. \nAdditionally\, increasing age and comorbidities are often associated with a discriminant lower use of aggressive cancer therapies\, as well as a higher neglection for their preferences in health-related quality of life care support. \nLifechamps\, the organization in charge of the event\, aims to address the inherent complexity caused by cancer treatments and to act in the monitoring of health status and improvement of quality of life in a significant manner by using emerging technologies in the fields of Big Data\, Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence. \nThis event aims to address the following topics: \n\nUnderstanding the role of survivorship within the scope of the EU Beating Cancer Plan: key research and innovations aspects\nPatient perspective: Importance of digital solutions for cancer patients and its potential\nIntroduction of preliminary results\n\neCAN will participate at the panel discussion: Stakeholders’ perspective on the role of R&I in the digital transformation of cancer care continuum.
