DESCRIPTION:Campus Gutenberg consists of an annual conference offered free of charge to science communication professionals to update knowledge and discuss the challenges of science communication and popularisation. Each edition of this conference focuses on a central theme and this year’s theme is “drought”: how we inform the public and what we can do in public communication to address this serious and urgent problem. \nAlthough drought is the central theme\, Campus Gutenberg is a participatory event and will not be limited to a single topic; it will address\, in different and innovative formats\, the topics of greatest interest proposed by the participants from the very construction of the programme. \nCampus Gutenberg 2024 will take place in person on 18-19 September 2024 at the CosmoCaixa Science Museum in Barcelona. The session also introduces the “Partners of Experience in Cancer” (PECan) initiative\, a patient-led living lab empowering patients & caregivers to lead agenda-setting and drive research & innovation in oncology care.  \nWe highlight the success of the Romanian living lab in Arges county\, addressing societal and environmental barriers to cancer prevention\, and the first patient-led living lab in Greece\, powered by Thess-AHALL and the Hellenic Cancer Federation. Offering practical strategies for multi-stakeholder collaboration and advancing research\, join us to explore Living Labs’ role in patient advocacy and cancer prevention\, emphasizing patient leadership in co-creating a future where patient voices drive healthcare innovation and reduce inequalities. \nParticipants of the session will walk away with a comprehensive understanding of the pivotal role Living Labs play in accelerating the transition to carbon neutrality preparing the right conditions for embracing collaborative innovation across sectors and the arguments for the society and the industry ‘’fair’’ involvement.

DESCRIPTION:Psychosocial Oncology Care: Challenges and Opportunities Awareness Event will take place next October 16th at Limassol’s municipal library (Cyprus). The event\, organised by DESIPOC project\, aims to address challenges and seize opportunities in psychosocial oncology care and explore critical aspects in this field. \nOur colleague from WP7\, Efthyvoulos Kyriakou\, will present the eCAN JA and the digital tools our project developed for conducting 2 pilot projects for online pyschological support and rehabilitation. Along with other professionals\, Kyriakou will talk about the eCAN during the first session of the event\, dedicated to leveraging technology to optimize care. \nIf you are a nurse\, doctor\, oncology patient\, family caregiver\, researcher in the field of oncology\, student\, or simply someone interested in psychosocial care in oncology\, you can join the event from 08:30 to 14:30 (GMT +3).

SUMMARY:Deployment of EU4Health in Spain: improving the integrated approach to cancer
DESCRIPTION:Cancer continues to be one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality in the world and in Spain. In Europe\, the European Commission has the EU4Health programme to promote the implementation of the European Cancer Plan (EBCP)\, which aims to tackle the disease in a comprehensive manner. \nSpain participates in the EU4Health programme through several Joint Actions demonstrating its commitment to the fight against cancer. This conference will allow us to learn about the results obtained in the three Joint Actions of the 2021 health programme: CRANE\, JANE and eCAN\, the result of collaboration between countries of the European Union.

DESCRIPTION:The European Public Health (EPH) Conference is an annually organised scientific conference on public health issues in Europe. Each year the conference is organised in a different country by the EPH Conference Foundation in close cooperation with one or more local partner(s). The conference actively seeks a larger partnership with other European NGOs and institutions. \nThe conference of this year in Lisbon (Portugal)\, under the title Sailing the waves of European public health: exploring a sea of innovation\, will focus on a journey of innovation and discovery in public health. DESCRIPTION:After two years of work\, eCAN is coming to an end with its final conference. The Joint Action is organising a hibrid event bringing together all participants\, stakeholders and policy makers in Brussels (Belgium) on 28 and 29 November. \nThis event will summarise and briefly present all the achievements of the project and discuss future perspectives. DESCRIPTION:Athens Digital Health Week 2025  is co-organised by the Hellenic eGovernment Center for Social Security Services and the National eHealth Authority (NeHA) of Cyprus and is hosted in Athens by HL7 Hellas. A wide range of events covering many topics of digital health in Europe and beyond are also hosted during ADHW2025 rendering it into a high-profile networking event of digital health innovators in Europe. \ne-Health governance bodies as well as several European projects (like eCAN) are brought together in one venue to interconnect\, share outcomes and discuss further steps towards adopting and implementing digital technology in healthcare in Europe. \nStergiani Spyrou and Despoina Mantziari (eCAN members) will showcase how education and telehealth are reshaping care delivery.

DESCRIPTION:HaDEA is organising a showcase event in Brussels on ‘Fostering synergies to beat cancer: The impact of EU-funded projects’. This will be an important occasion to mark the World Cancer Day and demonstrate the impact of various grants and tenders managed by the Agency in relation to the Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the Cancer Mission. \nThis event will bring together representatives of EU-funded cancer projects like eCAN\, NGOs\, health organisations working in the field of cancer\, National Contact Points and National Focal Points and policymakers. The event will be held in person in Brussels and also online. \nMarc Van den Bulcke\, eCAN coordinator\, will moderate the last panel discussion of the event\, Reducing inequalities and improving quality of life of cancer patients and survivors\, and will represent our JA. \n
