SUMMARY:Implementation of Digital Tools for Oncological Quality of Care – Barriers and Facilitators
DESCRIPTION:The workshop entitled “Implementation of Digital Tools for Oncological Quality of Care – Barriers and Facilitators” is organized by the Cancer Guidance Center-Kapa3\, in the framework of the project “E-Health4Cancer” co-funded by the European Union\, Erasmus+ KA210-ADU (Project code: 2022-2-EL01- KA210-ADU-000097120). \nThe aim of the action is firstly to review the results of “E-Health4Cancer”\, which is related to the exchange of good practices in the use of non-clinical digital health solutions for cancer patients and their caregivers in Europe\, and to explore the latest developments in this field\, looking at current challenges and available solutions in supporting oncology patients. \nDuring the workshop\, Pantelis Natsiavas\, from the Institute of Applied Biosciences (INAB-CERTH) and Stella Spyrou\, from the 3rd Regional Health Authority of Greece (3RHA)\, will moderate and participate in the roundtable ‘Digital Health: Infrastructures\, Challenges for a Rational Transition. Bright Examples!’. WP8 members will present the eCAN project\, its scopes and the experiences of the psychologists running the pilots at Papageorgiou Hospital. \nOther best practices of digital tools as studied by the project partners will be also presented. Patients\, caregivers\, representatives of civil society organizations and a number of scientific stakeholders who will provide their own valuable insights will join the meeting. \nYou can join the online evente here.

SUMMARY:OpenLivingLab Days 2024 - Transformative Potential of Living Labs in Oncology: Empowering Patient Advocacy and Cancer Prevention
DESCRIPTION:This session provides an overview of living labs in patient advocacy and primary cancer prevention\, aligned with the EU Mission on Cancer Recommendation. We explore the transformative potential of oncology-focused living labs from European R&I initiatives like eCAN\, ONCODIR\, ONCOSCREEN\, and LIFECHAMPS Horizon projects. The session also introduces the “Partners of Experience in Cancer” (PECan) initiative\, a patient-led living lab empowering patients & caregivers to lead agenda-setting and drive research & innovation in oncology care. \nWe highlight the success of the Romanian living lab in Arges county\, addressing societal and environmental barriers to cancer prevention\, and the first patient-led living lab in Greece\, powered by Thess-AHALL and the Hellenic Cancer Federation. Offering practical strategies for multi-stakeholder collaboration and advancing research\, join us to explore Living Labs’ role in patient advocacy and cancer prevention\, emphasizing patient leadership in co-creating a future where patient voices drive healthcare innovation and reduce inequalities. \nParticipants of the session will walk away with a comprehensive understanding of the pivotal role Living Labs play in accelerating the transition to carbon neutrality preparing the right conditions for embracing collaborative innovation across sectors and the arguments for the society and the industry ‘’fair’’ involvement.
